2nd December 2007
Ilkeston met second in the league and came under intense pressure from the kick off and it was not long before this paid off when defensively the boys were unable to clear their lines effectively and a looping ball landed in the goal 1-0.
The Robins then woke up and shots from both Sam Walker and Connor ‘Bam Bam’ Bamford had shots saved before a break by Stockbrook down the right with a neat cross to an unmarked forward extended their lead. Ilkeston immediately replied as James Gilbert threaded a pass through the centre for Sam Walker to run onto and pull a goal back just before half time.
The second half saw a simple error between goalkeeper and defender allowed Stockbrook to steal a third. A forth came soon after when the Ilkeston Midfield again did not challenge for the ball, some pride was restored as Ilkeston went to 3-2 and a splitting pass from Sam Walker returned the favour to James Gilbert to bring the final score to 4-2.
