Spreading expertise into Africa

Tube Tech International is poised to reap the benefits of a shift away from the Middle East as a major energy source.

With West Africa predicted to become the fastest growing source of oil and gas for the American market, the demand for cleaning and descaling has rocketed.

Tube Tech International has already proved its specialist ability to provide essential services to the oil and gas industries there.

The company has gained Nigeria’s official Articles of Association after its problem solving expertise was given emergency approval.

With an operation in Lagos employing Nigerian staff and equipment permanently stored there Tube Tech can provide immediate response.

Tube Tech has won a three-year contract with Nigeria LNG after removing severe contamination in 60,000 straight and U-bend heat exchanger tubes at the Bonny Island processing facility.

Tube cleaning and inspection carried out at Egbin's 12,000 tube power station also resulted in substantial improvements in performance.

Tube Tech Managing Director Mike Watson said: “We see our presence in Nigeria as a good opportunity to follow on from our initial success.

Despite isolated regional unrest, Tube Tech employees are happy to fly the Tube Tech banner in Nigeria and enjoy working with Nigerian colleagues.

We have already built up a strong, ongoing relationship with the senior people at NEPA (Nigerian Electric Power Authority) and NNPC (Nigerian National Petrochemical Corporation).

Our presence in Nigeria means we can respond quickly, not only there but in other parts of Africa."
